Over the years, we've gotten
questions from people just like
you posing as party planners
about their event. Below, you'll
find the most popular ones.
If you have a question that's
not answered here, please email
it to Corporate411@AGoodtimeDJ.com.
We'll quickly send you a response.
Q
- What
sets your company apart from
others?
Twenty Five years of experience
at more events than any other
company in the New England area
uniquely positions us as the
leader in the region.
Q
- Who
are your Disc Jockeys?
Our company is comprised of
seasoned personalities who have
an enormous amount of entertainment
experience. Their skills are
kept sharp by busy event schedules
and our ongoing training seminars.
Go to our Meet Our DJ's page
for a closer look.
Q
- What
will the DJ wear?
A classic black tuxedo, unless
you request otherwise.
Q
- The
CEO wants to make a welcome
speech, can he use your microphone?
Certainly. We'll even give them
a quick lesson.
Q
- We
have prizes to raffle off during
the party. When should we do
that and how?
We find that the best way is
to make it fun and continuous.
Try Let's Make A Deal instead
of pulling names. Answering
Company Trivia is another idea.
Try to give away most prizes
before dancing, but save a few
to build suspense through the
evening.
Q
- Will
the DJ play my requests?
Absolutely. Contrary to the
beliefs of some people, WE KNOW
it's your event. Your DJ will
play the songs on the music
list that you've highlighted
and steer clear of those that
you've crossed out. With your
permission, they will take your
guests requests as well, provided
they fit within the music program
you've designed.
Q
- What
if we want to hear a song that's
not on the playlist?
Beyond what you see on our music
list, we have a master music
library that contains more than
220,000 songs, virtually everything
popular from the Big Band Era
to today's Top 40. So, if you
don't see a particular selection,
call us, there's a good chance
that it's in our library.
Q
- What
does the equipment look like?
You'll be happy to know that
we believe in filling the room
with sound NOT equipment. Our
CD sound systems are attractive,
compact and deliver high quality
coverage. They include a wireless
microphone for all of your presentations
and announcements. You will
not need to supply cables, only
an outlet. Plus, we take the
time to hide all of the wires
and cables out of site.
Q
- We
don't want to hear any Christmas
music at our holiday party is
that a problem?
No. We understand that Christmas
music may not be appropriate
or desired.
Q
- Our
cocktail hour is going to be
in a separate room from the
dinner & dancing. Is that
a problem?
No. We suggest that you opt
for us to set up a second sound
system which allows for uninterrupted
music as your co-workers mingle
and enjoy hors d'oeuvres.
Q
- Do
you have back-up equipment?
Yes. We bring plenty of extra
gear...just in case.
Q
- Do
you put up any signs or banners?
No. No Way. Never.
Q
- When
is the best time to present
our years-of-service awards?
During dessert. The room is
quiet and the recipients will
get the group's full attention.
Q
- What
if, due to an emergency, my
DJ can't make it to the party?
If the DJ is admitted to the
hospital with two broken legs
and pneumonia, we will send
our on-call DJ to your location.
Though nerer used, we have a
DJ on-call 365 days of the year,
just in case.
Q
- Our
Annual Picnic will be held at
theMount Washington Hotel, do
you travel?
Yes. We travel throughout New
England, including New York,
New Jersey, and Hawaii. There
is no travel fee for events
held in the Route 93, Boston
to Concord, N.H. area. However
there is a reasonable travel
fee to locations outside of
that area perimeter.
Q
- Does
the DJ require a meal?
A meal is never expected, but
it is always appreciated.
Q
- Is
it appropriate to tip the DJ?
No. But if you think your Disc
Jockey has exceeded all expectations,
your gratuity, even a thank
you, makes your DJ feel that
they made your event a success.
Q
- We're planning on over 400
guests and most people attending
don't know everyone. What can
we do to make them all feel
comfortable?
Check out our Ice Breakers Page
for some terrific ideas on making
everyone feel a part of the
group.
